“Titan Quest” is not a role-playing game where you have a great story and characters and get a lot of choices during the game to evolve your character. It is a linear action role-playing game in the same style of the “Diablo”-games.

The game is losely based on Greek Mythology, and there is one main quest going throughout the entire game, and plenty of side quests to choose from. In both types of quests you will either have to go talk to someone or kill a monster, in that respect this game could be an offline version of a massive multiplayer online game.

During the ten first levels you will be able to select two different classes. They range from various of types of magic and ranged classes, to close-combat classes such as a warrior. There are plenty of skills to choose from in each class, but some of them lack diversity. Be prepared to use your mouse a lot in this game. It is not enough to hold in your mouse button to attack, but for each attack you have to click your mouse button. It becomes quite the clickathon when there are thousands of enemies throughout the game, each requiring one up to ten hits to die. Needless to say, it can become pretty boring to do this after playing the game for 30-60 minutes.

Playing the game cooperatively in multiplayer can at least be more fun. The game supports up to eight players, but unfortunately there are no loot rules, which means that any item or gold which is dropped can be picked up by anyone. There is no cheat protection in place either, so it is probably the best to play with people you know, even though you might have a bit of fun to play with random people online.

The graphics look great for a game of this type. You can zoom in and out and it still looks good when you are zoomed all the way in. Animations are good for the most part. All the characters you talk to have voices, which is always good. However, the monster and weapon sounds can become really monotonous and boring after a brief period of time.

Probably the biggest problem with “Titan Quest” is that it is a very unstable game. If you are lucky, you might be able to run it perfectly well and never experience a problem. But if you are unfortunate, like most people, the game might crash to your desktop once every one or two hours, or you might never be able to get it to run properly.
